The PlayStation 3 is the first Blue-ray player to support BD-Live functionality. BD-Live requires that a Blu-ray player have 1 GB of internal storage and an internet connection. The PS3 has a hard drive and obviously can get on the net. With these things, it gives you access to new “extras” after the disc has been released. BD Live is probably a lot like the feature HD DVD had. You can download content to a HD (your PS3) made especially for that DVD. And now available as a free download to PS3 owners directly through the console’s onscreen interface.
